About Insider: Marketing tool for brands to connect with customers via push notifications, WhatsApp, Email etc.
The objective is to enhance the email template creation process, allowing users to access a template library and seamlessly design both promotional and transactional emails. Ultimately, we want to make it easier for email users to send transactional emails, without having to write HTML or ask for developer help.
Problem Statement 🥲
Users face difficulties when designing transactional email templates due to the absence of a user-friendly interface. The lack of a seamless connection between the drag-and-drop editor and API-triggered emails leads to inconvenience and reliance on technical resources.
Solution 💡
To address this issue, we designed a template library that provides users with pre-built templates and enables them to create and manage email templates easily as well as seamlessly utilize the template ID for the API-triggered emails.
Impact 🚀
73% of users explored and used templates from the library in the first two months.
80% reduction in time spent on average in creating and updating transactional email designs.
Helped us close the market gap and unlocked a few deals especially in the US market.
Providing a Scalable Templates Experience
There were a few teams with template pages, but the experiences were inconsistent.
I aligned cross-functional stakeholders on a shared vision of template experiences.
I designed a proof of concept that showed how the solution can be scaled to other product areas.
Centralized Template Library with Filtering Options
Our centralized template library with filtering options makes it easy for our users to find the perfect email template for their campaign. With a wide array of pre-designed templates, our users can quickly find the perfect starting point for their email campaigns.
Create New Templates from Pre-Built Ones
Our intuitive drag-and-drop editor makes it easy to customize our pre-built templates to match our user’s brand's unique style. Our users can simply choose a template from our library and modify every aspect of the design, from colors and fonts to images and content.
Sync Latest Designs with Transactional API Payload
We simplified the process of syncing the newest transactional email template designs, so users can easily sync the latest templates when sending transactional emails through our API.
